I think the basic techniques of watercolour are pretty much a battle between water and paint/pigment and getting the right amount of both. Understanding how much water, water control are key to great watercolour. Am I there yet? Not really!!!
But if it's dreamy wet-on-wet which gives you nice floaty clouds and skies, or detailed sharp edges of wet-on-dry it's all worth it! I love adding texture with dry brushing & splatter, and while i didn't go into much detail in the video, lifting.
You can use lifting if you've made a mistake or want to add a highlight by lifting the paint off your paper by a clean damp brush, or paper towel.
As always, you gotta be patience and let go of the control which if you're like me isn't always so easy!!!
